Weekly update 8/27/08
This week I’m writing this update from the bus again, but this time the trip I’m on is more of a fun trip.
Visa Status
Praise the Lord our corporation has finally been approved and we have already had our first business meeting. Our work with immigration for our visas is now waiting for documents that will be coming from the States after getting all the necessary "Authentications." Please keep praying for our ongoing work to get our visas. The corporation was just the first of many hoops to jump through to get our Missionary visas.
Because all that is basically out of my control I had a day to chase down something more interesting. Meaning I get to go look at a used car. We are still working on how to get a drivers license over here but we have heard some good things recently so we are pursuing a car. Therefore I am on a bus headed off to go look at a car. Please pray for direction and wisdom for us as we consider purchasing a car.
Baby Status:
Nothing new other than we are feeling movement more often.
Language School Status:
For a variety of reasons we have approached the language school about having a teacher come to our home instead of us having to come to the language school. This is an option that they offer but they are having to work out when it would be and who it would be. Please pray for God to provide a good time slot and also a good teacher to work with us.
Thank you all for your prayers.

Weekly update 8/20/08
This week in the life of Jeff and Heather.
VISA STATUS
Still no corporation approval. We went last week but they had not started our paperwork. Then the next day we got a message that said they gave us back the wrong copy of the paperwork and needed us to bring it back. So now it is a week later than expected and still no paperwork. But getting documents “Authenticated” seems to be a bigger process than we originally thought too so there is no hurry for the corporation paperwork. Please keep praying as we sort through all the red tape to get this accomplished.
BABY STATUS
This week we have started to feel some movement of the baby. Heather obviously feels more of it than I (Jeff) do, but even I have felt some. We praise God for a healthy growing baby.
LANGUAGE SCHOOL STATUS
Language school is basically the same we are trying to learn as best we can and use what we learn when we get a chance. Please remember to keep praying for this.
WEATHER UPDATE:
Incase anybody heard about a typhoon coming through the Philippines. We only saw some heavy rain from this one. We didn’t even loose electricity. Praise God for His protection.
Please keep praying for our visas, the baby, and our language school.

weekly update 8/13/08
This week in the life of Jeff and Heather.
VISA STATUS
Sitting in starbucks waiting for immigration to finish our visa extensions, that's where I am this week. Once we get our visas extended we will be going to the SEC to pic up our approved corporation paperwork. Please keep praying for our missionary visa application. We just found out that some of the paperwork that we had people send to us has to go back to he states and be "authenticated" by the Philippine Consulate before it can be used here. This means we will have to send it back and get somebody to take them to a consulate then send them back to us. Not the end of the world but time consuming.
BABY STATUS
This week we had a doctor’s apt. for Heather and the baby, and with 4 months till the expected delivery everybody seems happy and healthy. We praise God for this.
LANGUAGE SCHOOL STATUS
Hard and slow seems to be the only description, but God's grace is sufficient. In fact I'll use one of my new Tagalog words His grace is "sobra" (more than enough). We just have to keep leaning on His sobra grace and keep working at it and trust God will be sure we know what we need to know to do whatever He wants us to do.
Please keep praying for our visas, the baby, and our language school.
