weekly update 7/16/08
This week in the Life of Jeff and Heather.
Too much to mention.
Mostly due to the fact that I have not posted the “weekly update” in a little over a month but also because there is a lot going on. The highlights are as follows. Most already know that we are having a baby. Every thing looks healthy for now and the baby is due Dec 17th.
There was a small typhoon / hurricane that came to visit us, but it did no damage to us. In fact it did very little damage to most of Manila. It did cause the tragic capsizing of a ferry boat but that did not directly affect us.
Language school is still very difficult and time consuming but we are surviving and beginning to understand some things and catch words in other people’s conversations.
As far as long term visas are concerned, we are making slow progress. We have found out the steps involved for us. The first step is to form basically a non profit corporation which will be recognized by the SEC here in the Philippines. Then that corporation will request for us to be here as missionaries and we will then apply for our visas. It will still be a long process but we at least feel like we now know what to do.
Please keep praying for language school, and the commuting that is involved with it. As Heather’s pregnancy progresses we might have to reconsider our transportation situation. Also
