Weekly update 5/13/09
Heather is feeling much better now, and Sam is still very healthy. Thank you for your prayers.
The tropical storm that I mentioned last week actually escalated to a category 1 typhoon but made landfall about 100 miles north of us. We still got a lot of rain from it but it really caused no problems for us. The area hit by it the worst is actually the area we desire to be in, once we get done with language school. Please pray for Pangasinan.
Thank you for your prayers regarding our interview with the embassy. We spent most of our time sitting in line and just a very little on the actual “interview” His citizenship has been approved and we are now just waiting for his passport and birth certificate to arrive. Once that is done I will take another trip to the embassy to apply for Sam’s Social Security number. We have to have this to finish our taxes.
We know we have mentioned this a lot but we would really appreciate your prayers for our language learning. The School is changing our teachers yet again regardless of their promises to not change them again. We will now have 3 different teachers and they do not seem to be very good at keeping a continuity to their teaching.
We have not mentioned this much lately but we would also appreciate your prayers for team members. Being here by ourselves has its challenges and we would love to have the fellowship, but beyond that there is the fact that this is an enormous, ripe harvest field with very few workers. Please pray with us for God to send people to work with us here.
