Weekly update 4/3/07

This week in the life of Jeff and Heather:

Another week with no update. I think I have a better excuse this time. I spent the week at Southland trying to recruit and trying to fix my truck. The meetings with the students were enjoyable and although none of them showed a specific interest in the Philippines I do believe we increased their burden and awareness of world missions. I (Jeff) worked on the truck until Friday. Finally I gave up and some wonderful people in our home church came down with a truck and trailer. They dropped off our car and picked up my truck and took it home. They also gave us a vehicle to borrow until I get our truck fixed. Well one week later and the truck is still not working. I am going to the library today to see if I can find the manual that has the diagnostics flow chart for the electronic ignition system. Anyhow we praise God that he provided a vehicle to drive in the mean time and also a way to get the truck home.

Then this past Sunday we had a meeting with a church near Toledo, Ohio. We arrived Saturday in to see the pastor leave for the emergency room. They think he has a gall stone that is causing Pancreatitus. The church has an assistant pastor and so we spent the weekend with them and it was a wonderful weekend. On Sunday we shared our ministry and I was able to preach on Sunday night.

A few notes of financial praise. Before leaving for our meeting in Ohio I had balanced our checkbook and things were just not exactly where I wanted to see them. I knew God would take care of it and through a very generous love offering on Sunday and an equally generous donation we received in the mail God has once again provided much more than what we “Had” to have. Praise God for his continued provision.

Please keep praying for our team members. We are confident God will provide them but we also feel we need to keep asking Him and affirming our dependence on God to provide them. When we find them all the glory will be to God, because we know He will provide them not our efforts. Sorry for the long “weekly update” but this is really 2 rolled up in one so I guess that is why it is so long. Thank you all for your prayers.
