OOPS Update 1/15/10

I really thought I posted an update last week but then I went to check and see what I wrote and the last one I posted was over 2 weeks ago.  Sorry for the lack of information.

The last few weeks have seen some good things.  First we were able to submit our application for our visa renewal, with very little trouble.  We still have an interview and then our application has to go to the approval board but we at least have the application submitted.  We will actually be going back to immigration on this coming Monday to see when our interview is, and maybe we will be able to have the interview then.

Secondly our friend has returned to the Philippines with his family after a more than one year furlough.  It is very encouraging to have them back here.  The other benefit to having them back is that, as we need to spend more time getting ready for furlough the church will not need me for preaching as much so that will save me some time.  Also, our friend has offered to start doing some Tagalog classes with us. We actually had the first class today and it promises to be challenging but useful.

Finally, we have purchased our plane tickets for furlough.  This is a major step in preparing and planning for furlough.  We are excited to be heading back to the States to see friends and family and to report back to everybody what has been happening.   On the other hand we hate to leave some of the friends we now have here.

Please be praying for our visa renewal and our furlough preparations.
