Lesson relearned 11/30/10
It has become common practice here in the Philippines to move Holidays to Monday, therefore creating long weekends for those who get the holiday off. We know this and we know that it means our bank is closed on Monday if there is a Holiday anywhere in the week. But sometimes we forget.... We needed to go to the bank on Monday and checked the calendar to be sure it would be open. Calendar said no holiday so we figured we would be OK. But alas we missed the fact that they moved a holiday from Tuesday and therefore took Monday off. Any time the bank is closed for a day the next day it is more crowded. The last few days of a month are always the busiest at the bank for various reasons. Well we couldn't go on Monday so we had to go on Tuesday. I arrived at the bank just after it opened. It took 30min to get my deposit done, and another 45 to make my withdraw. Lesson RELEARNED.
This week we did do something that was recommended to us a while back but we just got around to trying it this week. We sat down with a Tagalog Bible and an English Bible and a dictionary and read / studied through Mark chapter one. It always amazes me the things I have missed all these years just reading in English. We get to verse 13 and we see the tagalog Bible says something about wild beasts??? So we looked and sue enough its there in the English translation too. Never noticed that part about the temptation of Christ before. Go look it up yourself.
We are still studying language, waiting for a house to open up, and searching for a vehicle. Please be praying about all 3.
